Lavolta Lakota - Pós-punk underground de Manchester

Emergindo da vibrante cena pós-punk de Manchester em 1982, Lavolta Lakota deixou uma marca singular, embora breve, na história da música. Fundada por Davyth Hicks (mais tarde do Revenge), Mikey Eastwood, Moist (baixo) e Jed Duffy (ex-Stockholm Monsters), irmão de Billy Duffy do (Theatre of Hate) a banda destacou-se por sua incomum formação com dois baixistas, criando uma sonoridade densa e característica.

A trajetória do Lavolta Lakota, que durou de 1982 a 1985, foi marcada por um único single, "Prayer"/"Mitawin", lançado pela Factory Benelux em julho de 1984. A produção do single ficou a cargo de Peter Hook, do New Order, creditado como "BeMusic".

 A formação original da banda incluía Davyth Hicks (vocais e guitarra), Jed Duffy (baixo), Michael Eastwood (baixo) e Peter Flanagan (bateria. Posteriormente, Guy Ainsworth assumiu a bateria, e a banda também contou com Ash Major (guitarra) e Mike Simii).

Apesar de sua curta duração, o grupo conquistou reconhecimento no cenário musical, realizando diversas apresentações ao vivo e participando de turnês ao lado de bandas influentes como Death Cult, New Order, The Fall, The Gun Club e Play Dead. Além do single, a faixa "Nightmare" foi incluída na compilação de cassete "The Angels Are Coming". 

Após a dissolução do Lavolta Lakota, Davyth Hicks seguiu carreira musical ao formar o Revenge com Peter Hook, solidificando ainda mais sua ligação com a cena musical de Manchester.

Emerging from Manchester's vibrant post-punk scene in 1982, Lavolta Lakota left a unique, albeit brief, mark on music history. Founded by Davyth Hicks (later of Revenge), Mikey Eastwood, Moist (bass), and Jed Duffy (former Stockholm Monsters), brother of Billy Duffy of Theatre of Hate, the band stood out for its unusual lineup with two bassists, creating a dense and distinctive sound.
